About the RMTA: The RMTA was established by the Virginia General Assembly to build and operate a variety of public facilities and offer public services, especially transportation related, within the Richmond metropolitan area, each of which is operated and financed solely by user fees. About the Role: The Toll Systems Engineer role performs diverse, specialized and highly technical work involving significant accountability and decision-making responsibility. The position receives only occasional instruction.
Qualifications: Background in planning, directing and overseeing the evaluation, configuration, troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of issues in the following areas: computer hardware and software applications, server infrastructure, fiber optics, network, telecommunications, and data systems, database administration and systems security administration needed. Ideal candidates will possess at least five (5) years of progressively responsible information technology project management, system and infrastructure design and maintenance, data and systems analysis experience. Knowledge and/or experience in tolling is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a closely related field, OR any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
