About the Role:
- Responsible for covering for absent Toll Supervisors and Bridge Attendants.
- Supervise all Toll Collection Attendants on a given shift; ensure optimal staffing and call for substitutes when absenteeism or tardiness occurs; monitor compliance of procedures.
- Responsible for selling coins/cash to other assigned plazas.
- Ensure proper control and security of toll facility cash funds and toll revenues.
- Respond to TCA requests for additional change during shift.
- Monitor traffic in lanes, operation of toll collection equipment, and other equipment at Plaza facility; notify appropriate vendor of malfunctions.
- Handle patron complaints and/or questions that are referred by TCAs; obtain highway assistance for patrons.
- Complete all forms required for such events as: gate incidents; accidents; and worker accidents and injuries.
- Maintain a log of all activities on shift.
- Explain and enforce RMTA rules, regulations, and policies with regard to both employees and the public.
- Identify policy and procedure infractions and take appropriate action to correct, including counseling TCAs.
- Relieve TCAs for breaks or other reasons.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of toll booths, lanes, and Plaza facility during shift.
- Work both inside and outside.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an RMTA Toll Supervisor (I or II), preferred.
- Experience maintaining effective working relationships with associates and the public.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft office and toll systems software/applications.
- Must be able to consistently provide high quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical aptitude to operate toll collection equipment, operate money counting and adding machines, and to un-jam coin machines.
- Operate Windows based toll collection management system on personal computer.
- Ability to read, write legibly, and to make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to follow directions, make sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Must be accessible by phone and able to report to work on a call-in basis.
- Must be able to work days, evenings and overtime as required.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.
This is a full-time position. Hiring salary range: $17.50-19.58 per hour.
